Expect to see some changes in Hat league this year. We are actively developing a new parallel curriculum to add intermediate skills training along side our traditional beginner skills development while still maintaining an emphasis on team chemistry, ultimate strategy, and of course, fun.
The updated curriculum will be in effect this fall and we are pumped to bring additional intermediate options to WODS. Fall Hat league kicks off Tuesday, Sept 8th.
WODS Fall League is back by popular demand with a Tuesday "Hat" league and a Thursday Teams league. New this year: WODS is also offering a Competitive Tuesday League. Games will be played on the turf fields at Woodside Park in Kitchener. Registration opens Monday August 10 at noon.
We are so proud to have sponsored this video and hope that it contributes to growing the sport across Canada and beyond! How fitting that it happens to be ready the same week as the huge Ultimate News. Enjoy the video!
We are SO thrilled to announce our support for the Ultimate Film Project!
In short, its "A one minute video about Ultimate that raises the hairs on the back of your neck and makes you think to yourself, I need to try that." This video would be the first of its kind in Ultimate and would showcase Canada as a leader in one of the fastest growing sports in the world. An easy-to-remember rule to follow if you see lightning - it's called the 30-30 rule.
If you can count thirty stalls after you see lightning, then the lightning is far enough away that you can continue to play your game. If the lightning is 'closer' than thirty stall counts, you should immediately discontinue play and seek appropriate cover quickly.
The second 30 refers to 30 minutes. You should wait for half an hour until after the last lightning is observed before resuming your game.
Please note that the WODS policy on Lightning and Adverse Weather can be found here.
