Winter 2015 WODS/CARL Hat League

Winter full-field indoor ultimate is back - WODS and City of Waterloo CARL (Community Adult Recreation Leagues) have teamed up once again to run a Winter Hat League.  Facilities and administration are provided by CARL. WODS is providing top level players as captains who will provide training sessions and team guidance in games.  This 10-week program is a good next step following the WODS Fall Hat League.  Here are the 2015 details:

Observer Training

Ultimate Canada is running an observer training clinic on October 4 and 5, 2014 in Kingston at the University Eastern Ultimate Championships.  You may even be able to catch a ride out with one of the 3 university teams from Waterloo that are going to the tournament.  The clinic costs $25 and you'll probably want to stay in a hotel overnight.  Past KW players who have attended these training sessions have gone on to referee in AUDL games.

University Tryouts

The Canadian University Season is approaching fast and the two Universities in Waterloo are gearing up for an exciting season.  Below is the tryout info for both schools, you will need to be a student at these institutions to tryout.

Waterloo Region Takes Double Gold at the Canadian Ultimate Championships

On August 17, 2014 two Waterloo Region ultimate teams became National ChampionsPPF, the Waterloo Region Women's team claimed the gold over Stella (Ottawa) 15 to 12.  Crash, the Waterloo Region Mixed division team finished the tournament by beating Max Power (Toronto) 15 to 13.  This is the first time a team from the Waterloo Region has won gold at the Canadian Ultimate Championships.
