Chicopee Disc Golf Memberships and Volunteer Spring Cleanup Day

Yo, WODS Disc Golfers!!

Spring is here.  And that means that Chicopee's slopes are switching from ski mode into disc golf mode.  Here's some springtime details for aspiring disc golfers...

2010 Memberships

Disc Golf memberships are available from Chicopee now for $59 until April 30, so hurry up and get yours now.  Starting May 1, the price will go up to $69. But if you're interested in an even better deal, see the special rate offered to WODS volunteers, below.

Note that Chicopee also has a comprehensive summer season pass that provides access to all the activities there (tennis, mountain-biking, hiking, climbing, etc.).  For more information, see their membership page.

Spring Cleanup Volunteer Day

We'll be holding a volunteer course cleanup day on Saturday May 1, starting at 9:00 a.m. This will involve some light work cleaning up tee pads, installing signs, clearing brush, and generally getting the course set for the summer. The plan will be to work through the morning, enjoy a nice lunch, courtesy of Chicopee, and then play some golf in the afternoon!  This will be a fun day and a great way to contribute to the course.  In addition, Chicopee will offer a special one-day rate to all volunteers of $49 for the disc golf season membership. But you have to be there to get that special rate!

If you are interested in participating in the Volunteer Day on May 1, or if you have any questions about disc golf, please contact Duane Chris here.

2010 Summer Disc Golf "League"

Chicopee's Disc Golf League Night will be on Wednesday nights in 2010, beginning May 26.   This is a fun weekly event open to beginners and experienced golfers alike, on a week-by-week basis -- no long-term commitment required.  Disc golf members can play for as little as $2/week, with additional optional prize pools and food/drink options.  More details on the pricing and league structures can be found at Chicopee's website.  This is the best way to meet new people to play with and to learn more about the game.  Check it out.

Fore!!

volunteer day

The volunteer clean-up day is on the same day as the Right to Play charity disc-golf tourney at Shade's Mills (runs from 1-4 pm). If the clean-up goes quickly, you can probably make it to Cambridge in time to do both events.

Volunteer Day

We weren't aware of the conflict.  Sure... anybody would be welcome to leave in time to make the tourney at Shade's Mills.  It's not far from Chicopee, anyway.
