AGM Elections

In addition to the Board of Directors (BOD) reporting directly to you, the membership, at the AGM to let you know what we have been doing over the year and what we hope to accomplish in the future; it's the time to elect the new 2010 BOD for the coming year.

The election of board members is an important event of which every WODS member should be aware. WODS is a volunteer, non-profit organization.  Directors are not paid. They volunteer their time and effort to support disc sports in Waterloo Region. They are people with an interest for ultimate and/or disc golf and who wish to contribute back to those sports and the organization that has given them such enjoyment over the years. WODS needs more people to take such an interest and be willing to act as Board members.

The WODS BOD has traditional consisted of nine individuals.  A diagram illustrating the traditional structure is attached to this posting.  Recent discussions by the BOD have lead to the decision to expand the BOD for 2010 to include ten individuals.  The position of Communications Director will be added to the BOD.

The responsibilities of the Communications Director will include:
• Responsible to communication with the WODS membership
• Work with other directors to generate announcements (he/she will work with the Leagues Director to ensure the timely advertisement of leagues, with the Skills Development Director to advertise clinics, etc.)
• Responsible for oversight of website and ensure conformity
• Handle media requests/advertisement
• Represent WODS in public meetings (ex. Kiwanis Park issues this past year)
