WODS members appeared at the Williamsburg Community Festival (near Westmount/Fishcher-Hallman) on September 13 to promote disc sports in the local community. A great time was had by all. Many thanks to WODS volunteers Erin Frape, Matt Petcoff and Carol Chris for helping to make this event happen, and for helping to spread the word about disc sports in Waterloo Region.

Kiwanis Park Reminders:

Drive slowly (< 40 km/h) in the Kiwanis community
Park in the grass lot past the gate (avoid using the gravel lot outside gate)
Park close together to maximize parking
Pick-up all garbage (whether it's yours or not)
Cursing is unacceptable!

Lightning

An easy-to-remember rule to follow if you see lightning - it's called the 30-30 rule.

If you can count thirty stalls after you see lightning, then the lightning is far enough away that you can continue to play your game. If the lightning is 'closer' than thirty stall counts, you should immediately discontinue play and seek appropriate cover quickly.
The second 30 refers to 30 minutes. You should wait for half an hour until after the last lightning is observed before resuming your game.
