Will registration occur on a team basis (ex. $550/team) or will there be room for individuals to sign up?
Team vs. Individual Registration
Registration will be open to teams. If you are an individual looking to play, your best bet is to make use of the forum 'Looking for player or teams?' (http://www.wods.ca/forum/6). This forum has been used successfully in the past.
Teams have begun to iron out their rosters so now is probably the best time to post your availability/interest to the forum.
Hopefully you are able to connect with a team.
WODS winter league as 'advanced/intermediate' level
Just a quick point to clarify why WODS operates the indoor winter league primarily as an advanced/intermediate level league: When the concept of an indoor winter league was first considered by WODS, we were motivated by the fact that there were already two indoor winter leagues operating at RIM Park (a field house league and a gymnasium league) that were open to players and teams of all levels, but without distinct advanced or intermediate divisions, or a ladder system. As such, there was no outlet for more experienced players to play consistently through the winter at those levels. The WODS indoor league emerged to fill that void, beginning with six teams in January 2007 and now expanding to up to 16 teams for this 2009 season. Now, the ladder system should help to provide some greater flexibility in the level of play and teams that can participate in this league.
WODS encourages beginner level players to consider the opportunities for indoor winter play at RIM Park, and also to stay informed of our clinics that will run throughout the winter season.
WODS will continue, as always, to provide many opportunities for ultimate play at all levels through the spring, summer and fall seasons.
