UPDATE: Crisis Tryouts are at Franklin Park and Liquid tryouts will move to Crestview Public School starting on Saturday
Note: Dates and times for tryouts are up.
Hi folks,
The weather is getting better and as we head towards summer, more details about Waterloo Touring Ultimate are here.
Recruiting this year has been particularly strong and we're expecting that Liquid's development team will be much stronger than in past years. To reflect the new strength, the team has a new name, Crisis, and will begin tryouts on the 29th of April. This is a change from Quicksand to bring a fresh new begining to what we all believe will be the finest year for Waterloo Touring Ultimate. Crisis intends to qualify for and be competitive at Nationals in Calgary in August. Any questions about the team can be directed to crisisultimate@gmail.com
To start things off on the right foot, we are going to be heading outside to get the grass legs back prior to tryouts. This practice is open to anyone intending to play with Liquid or Crisis and will be held on Wednesday, April 16 from 6:00 until 8:00 at Franklin Park/Franklin Public School. It is located near Franklin and Ottawa. Map: Franklin Park
Tryouts for Liquid will begin on Tuesday April 22 and Wendesday April 23, also held at Franklin. Anyone interested in playing with Liquid must be out these days. If you have a major conflict, please contact us immediately at the address below.
For those who make it through the first set of cuts, the Saturday Scrimmage day has been changed to an early start. This is to simulate performance at tournaments. Anyone can be awake at 3 in the afternoon, but have you got what it takes for the first game of the day? We will begin warm up at 9 am on Saturday April 26 and finish by noon. Please be on time.
If you have questions, please send them our way.

Liquid and Crisis Captains
Hey Yaacov,
Could you guys please post a list of the Liquid and Crisis captains somewhere? Maybe this list exists already (?) or perhaps it's possible to piece it together from various posts, but I think a one-stop-shop would be awesome.
Thanks,
Craig
That's a bold new name
Wow, bold move on the new name. I see we've decided to stick with the "arena football" team names (if you read the book "Ultimate: the greatest sport ever invented by man" you'll get the reference).
Captains
Excellent question, Craig.
Liquid captains are Neenah Navasero , Bryanne Root , Lenny Scott , Matt Snow , Justin Lee and Yaacov Iland .
Crisis captains will be elected from the team after tryouts are complete. Practices will be run by Liquid captains Neenah Navasero and Yaacov Iland. The selection committee for Crisis is Nick Betik , Maria Pegg and David Hadaller .
Primordial Soup captains will also be elected from that team after tryouts are complete.
Andy, I voted for Black Tsunami Crisis in the hopes of building my indie rock cred, but was overruled.
Liquid/Crisis tryouts
"To reflect the new strength the team has a new name, Crisis, and will begin tryouts the following week"
So am I correct in my understanding that if I tryout for Liquid, I won't be able to try out for Crisis? It would appear that if one makes it to the final round of cuts for Liquid, they will still be involved with that while Crisis tryouts begin.
Tryouts for Liquid are eligible for Crisis
Thanks for asking, Jeff!
Trying out for Liquid is definitely compatible with trying out for Crisis. In the past, tryouts for the A and B teams have been held simultaneously. Anyone cut from Liquid in the final cut automatically got a spot on Quicksand. This year, recruiting has been very strong and so Liquid is putting two (smaller than usual) tryout teams in to Soggy Bottom Bowl. Simultaneous tryouts would mean that a large number of Crisis' players would be missing from the tryout tournament, which makes it very difficult to pick a team. So we're using TUF as the Crisis tryout tournament so that everyone who makes it that far has the same chance to show what they can do. Anyone who is still trying out for Liquid when Crisis tryouts start but doesn't make Liquid can join Crisis tryouts once they're able.
Simulate tournament like morning?
So with that in mind, we should all get completely hammered before practice saturday morning?
