Kiwanis Park Reminders:
- Drive slowly (< 40 km/h) in the Kiwanis community
- Park in the grass lot past the gate (avoid using the gravel lot outside gate)
- Park close together to maximize parking
- Pick-up all garbage (whether it's yours or not)
- Cursing is unacceptable!
Lightning
An easy-to-remember rule to follow if you see lightning - it's called the 30-30 rule.
- If you can count thirty stalls after you see lightning, then the lightning is far enough away that you can continue to play your game. If the lightning is 'closer' than thirty stall counts, you should immediately discontinue play and seek appropriate cover quickly.
- The second 30 refers to 30 minutes. You should wait for half an hour until after the last lightning is observed before resuming your game.

league runner scheduling
Wondering why we play the same teams. 22 in the league but we haven't seen most of them and seem to be playing a bunch of teams a couple of times? Sometimes 6 or 7 places away in the standings vs. other teams we haven't played that are right next to us in the standings?
Ladder
Mark,
The ladder attemptes to schedule the 'closest' game it can offer for that particular week. The result being that top teams will cycle amongs themselves as will bottom tier teams. The middle of the pack gets the most variety based on having the most scheduling options.
Based on your team's schedule, you saw 3 repeated opponents over a 15 game (to date) schedule. In a round-robin format, with tiers, you would have likely seen the same opponents more often with more repeated games.
The ladder has been a learning experience but, overall, seems to have performed as expected. You can read more about how the ladder works here.
